The Albuquerque Cacti locked up a win at Stars Field, knocking off the State College Swallowtails, 7-5. On the mound for Albuquerque was right-hander Josh Criss. He played a major role in the triumph. The winner was Criss. He threw 6.2 innings of 3-hit ball. The loser was Du-sung Ryu. Yoo-ngan Chen closed it out for his 18th save.

It could have been a different outcome for Albuquerque, had it not been for Ricardo Nieves, the 23-year old right fielder . Nieves contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put Albuquerque up, 4-2.

"Thought I threw pretty well and overall I felt good," said Criss.

The Cacti, at 50-31, sit in second place in the RCL AAA Bobby Cox Division.
