Amarillo and Calgary duked it out and the Armadillos came out victorious.

The Amarillo Armadillos withstood an impressive performance by Calgary second baseman Ryan Welch to defeat the Kodiaks, 9-7, at Foothills Stadium. Welch went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Bryan Tetrick got the save, the 2nd for him this season.

Adam Bergeron, the Amarillo first baseman, contributed a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to make the score 8-5, Armadillos. For the game, Bergeron was 2-5 with 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.

"It was a solid team effort," said Bergeron after the game.

The Armadillos improved their record to 37-46 with the win over Calgary.
