Argonauts Continue Skid, Thanks to Vasquez, Coal Miners
The Antioch Coal Miners topped the Astoria Argonauts, 10-5, the lion's share of the credit going to right fielder Salvatore Vasquez. On the day, Vasquez was 2 for 3 with a home run, a triple, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 4 for the Coal Miners. Jesse Bates earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 4.2 innings. He upped his record to 1-1. The losing streak for Astoria has now reached 5 games.

With Antioch leading 3-1 in the bottom of the third, Vasquez hit a cutter from Jason Evans for a bases-clearing triple. It was his 1st triple of the season and put the Coal Miners ahead, 6-1.
