Amarillo right fielder Matt Griffin made his presence felt in the 11-6 Armadillos triumph over the Billings Mustangs. Griffin was 2 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 6. Amarillo pitcher Brian Taylor got the win, upping his record to 6-6. Jeremy Hillman got the loss. With the win, Amarillo has a record of 52-49. Billings falls to 37-62.

Griffin contributed a big hit, a bases-clearing double, for Amarillo in the top of the fifth. With his team trailing 3-1, Griffin took a sinker from Jeremy Hillman and stroked the double to center. His 17th double of the season allowed the Armadillos to leap in front, 4-3.

"We knocked the fire out of the ball," said Amarillo manager Tyler Bulman. "The guys swung the bats pretty good, and that's fun to see."
