Joplin and Minneapolis duked it out and the Fireballs came out victorious.

Brice Lavaud pitched well, but his team, the Minneapolis Freeze, still dropped a 2-1 decision to the Joplin Fireballs at The Firepit. By defeating Minneapolis, the 5th-place Fireballs improved to 48-55.

Edwin Cuevas was the walk-off hero for Joplin. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Fireballs third baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

In postgame remarks, Cuevas applauded his team's "business-like approach."
