Thunder Bay wasted a solid 6-inning effort from starting pitcher Marcel Antoine, losing to Memphis, 2-1, at Privateers Grounds. Geoff Dwyer was the winner. He's now 8-3. The loser was 27-year old left-handed pitcher Jose Herrera. Picking up his 2nd save was 33-year old left-handed pitcher Gary Halliwell.
Atissi Ikinya aided the Memphis cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the catcher drew 1 walk.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Privateers manager Bryant Thomas, "I like our chances."
Memphis is now 53-54, while Thunder Bay is 57-49.
