Rowe Collects Cycle
Aaron Rowe did everything he could for the Tallahassee Captains -- literally.

The 21-year-old left fielder hit a single, a double, a triple and a home run for the Captains, going for the cycle and helping them get past the Fairfield Flash, 16-4, at The Carrier Dome.

"Yeah, I was some kind of hitter in this game," Rowe reflected later. "It was like all I had to do was close my eyes and swing the bat."

In a game headed for the record books, Rowe banged out 4 hits in 5 at-bats and totaled 2 runs batted in and 3 runs scored. Speaking with the press about the feat, he attributed it to "a lot of luck."

"A triple is so hard to hit," he said. "To just decide to get one in a game when you need it for a cycle, it's impossible. Usually something weird has to happen, the ball kicking past an outfielder or somebody falling down. There's a ton of luck in hitting for a cycle."

Aaron Rowe hit an RBI triple in the 1st, was hit by a pitch in the 2nd, flied out in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, doubled in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Aaron Land in the 8th.

For the season, Rowe has produced 122 hits in 349 at-bats for a .350 average with 20 home runs and gotten on base at a .447 clip.
