Starting pitcher Josh McCloud gave the Thunder Bay Black Bears a rock-solid effort. The Washington, District of Columbia native helped his team defeat the Fairfield Flash, 3-2, at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Picking up his 9th save was fireballing left-hander Ray Clemens. Thunder Bay is now 48-45.

Thunder Bay used the timely hitting of Kader Kefentse to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Black Bears on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

McCloud called the win a testament to his team's "tenacity."
