The Albuquerque Cacti stopped the Baton Rouge Outlaws, 7-5, at Coca Cola Stadium. The Cacti got a big game from Mario Alonso, who was 2-4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. The win belonged to John Goff in relief. His record improves to 4-2. Jesse Bates took the loss for Baton Rouge. With the win, Albuquerque upped its record to 48-46.

Albuquerque used the timely hitting of Tony Vasquez to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Cacti on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

Vasquez said his wife shared good advice with him before the game. "She said, 'Don't allow this game to make you mad.' When I thought about it, I realized this is just a game. I was able to relax at the plate."
