Wind Stumble Again, Lose, 15-4
|
Noah Kate led Albuquerque to a win over Waimea. The final score was 15-4. Kate, who is tied for 9th in the RAAA in stolen bases with 14, collected 2 runs batted in, while going 4 for 5 at the plate. The shortstop also scored 2 times. Albuquerque pitcher John Goff got the win, upping his record to 5-2. Mark Weston got the loss. The slumping Wind have lost 7 straight.
Jason Chaney delivered a big hit for Albuquerque. The pinch hitter drilled a grand slam home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Cacti ahead, 7-4. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.
"Everyone's kind of edgy right now," said losing manager Orlando González, "but nothing a couple of wins wouldn't cure."
