Racers Edge Swallowtails, 3-2

Starting pitcher Jesus Giron gave the Bowling Green Racers a rock-solid performance, helping his team defeat the State College Swallowtails, 3-2, at Top of the Hill. The winning pitcher was Giron, now 6-11. He tossed 8.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 8. David Heisler earned the save for Bowling Green, his 12th.
Bowling Green took a 3-2 lead on Danny Alatorre's 1st home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Alatorre hit in the bottom of the seventh, left State College pitcher Clyde Dempsey visibly frustrated.
"You have to win 1-0, 3-2, 2-1 games if you want to get to where you want to go," said Racers manager Ron Jeremy.
With the win, the Racers improved to 56-57.
