Billings Hangs 3-2 Loss on Reno
|
Billings beat Reno at Cobb Field, eking out a 3-2 win. The triumph was primarily due to first baseman Guillermo Jimenez. He went 2-3 with 2 home runs. Billings reliever Steve Simons was the winner. His record is now 1-0. David McPhail took the loss. With the win, Billings goes to 40-73, while the Raiders fall to 52-61.
Jimenez had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 0-2 changeup from David McPhail, he banged a solo home run to right, giving the Mustangs a 3-2 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Jimenez.
"You have to win 1-0, 3-2, 2-1 games if you want to get to where you want to go," said Mustangs manager Rainer Waldheim.
