5 Straight Wins for Beaches
|
State College first baseman Beau McCann was sensational. He was 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and a walk, while adding 3 RBI. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Cozumel beat the Swallowtails, 6-4. Jesus Cervantes picked up the win, improving his season record to 3-1. He struck out 4 in 6.1 innings. Getting the save was Matt Donohue, his 9th.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Jose Garcia? The Cozumel third baseman had a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Beaches on top, 5-2. For the game, Garcia had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I like how we're playing right now," said Garcia.
The Beaches, at 75-44, have now won 5 straight.
