Late Offense Lifts State College to 8-6 Victory
Despite a fine performance by shortstop Gary Greenlaw, the Calgary Hitmen lost to the State College Swallowtails, 8-6. Greenlaw was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The 4th-place Swallowtails hiked their record to 51-51.

State College used a timely hit from Alex Fernandez to get the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Swallowtails ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Swallowtails manager Afalku Coffie.
