The Peoria Caterpillars buried the Minneapolis Freeze, 13-1, under a barrage of hits. Juan Lopez led the onslaught, going 2-for-3 for Peoria. Peoria reliever Gerald Bosma picked up the win to move to 3-1. Brice Lavaud suffered the loss. The Caterpillars now own a record of 65-54.

The Caterpillars got a big hit from designated hitter Ben Petrich. Facing Minneapolis pitcher Nate Murray in the top of the seventh, Petrich pounded a 3-run home run to right-center. His 16th home run of the season put the Caterpillars ahead, 7-0.

"Not much to say," Minneapolis manager Ben Jeffcoat said, when asked afterward about the defeat.
