In Extras, Caterpillars Beat Captains
|
The Peoria Caterpillars downed the Tallahassee Captains, 6-5, in 10 innings at The Carrier Dome. The Caterpillars were led by Harry Cronin. Cronin went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Jordan Curry picked up the win in relief for Peoria, while Chris Bagley took the loss. The save was Randy Stucki's, his 9th.
Had Cronin not come through in the top of the tenth, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Cronin hit a run-scoring single. The Caterpillars took the lead, 6-5, and never looked back.
"I play this game for myself and my family, but of course it's always nice when we can win," said Cronin.
Peoria is now 44-60.
