Mavericks Lose, 7-4, at The Humidor
|
The Havana Stogies beat the El Paso Mavericks, 7-4, at The Humidor. Havana shortstop Quincy Littlejohn, who finished 3rd in the RCL in on-base percentage with .404 in 2061, collected 2 singles and 1 double with 3 runs batted in. Pat Tracy picked up the win, lifting his record to 3-2 on the season. He struck out 2 and walked 6 in 5.2 innings, while yielding 1 run. Andy Schutt earned the save for Havana, his 5th of the year.
Littlejohn contributed a big hit, a bases-clearing double, for Havana in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 1-0, Littlejohn took a changeup from Rick Booth and stroked the double to right-center. His 3rd double of the season allowed the Stogies to leap in front, 3-1.
"We came in and got the job done. That's what it's all about in this business," said Littlejohn.
El Paso is now 16-13.
