The Thunder Bay Black Bears overcame a pretty good performance by Waimea third baseman Bobby Wilcox, beating the Wind, 5-4, at The Wind Tunnel. Wilcox went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Reliever Ray Clemens picked up the win. His record improves to 4-1. Mark Weston, who is tied for 6th in the RAAA in saves with 15, took the loss. Thunder Bay is now 58-51.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Jong-Min Kim Jr.? The 32-year old second baseman Kim Jr. stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the ninth inning to put Thunder Bay up, 5-4. For the game, he was 3 for 5, including 2 doubles and 1 single.

Thunder Bay manager Qi-chang Ec said his team played a "no nonsense" game.
