The Peoria Caterpillars used an offensive barrage to beat the Madison Muskies, 10-1, at The Corral. George Cronin, the 26th overall pick in the 2058 draft, led the way, going 3-for-4 for Peoria. The winning pitcher was Cruz Castaneda. He tossed 89 pitches over 5.2 innings, allowing 1 run on 5 hits. With the win, Peoria raised its record to 63-46.

The Muskies had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Caterpillars going into the top of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 20-year old left fielder Mitch Barrett came to the plate. Barrett hit a 2-run home run on a 2-2 changeup from Madison hurler David Austin. It was Barrett's 13th home run of the year.

Madison manager Daniel Breuer called the blowout loss "not what we had in mind."
