The Waimea Wind beat the Bowling Green Racers in a game featuring much hitting but not much pitching. The final score was 14-9, Wind. One of the hitting stars was center fielder Riley Andrus. Andrus, who is tied for 8th in the RAAA in runs scored with 69, was 4 for 6 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Waimea reliever Aidan MacNevin picked up the win, upping his record to 5-3. Nate Crockett was saddled with the loss. Vince Erbeck notched his 4th save in 8 chances.

Bobby Wilcox had a big grand slam home run for the Wind in the top of the first inning. With Waimea leading 3-0 and the bases loaded, he sized up a changeup from 22-year old right-handed pitcher Nate Crockett and punished it. The result was his 18th home run of the season, which put the Wind on top, 7-0.

"If you were looking for a pitchers' duel," said Wilcox, "this wasn't it."

The Wind improved their record to 61-50 with the win over Bowling Green.
