Tight Tilt Goes to Beaches, 3-2
|
The Cozumel Beaches wanted a good start from Terry Hearn -- and he delivered one. The result was a 3-2 Cozumel win over the Waimea Wind at Bar Habor Stadium. Hearn picked up the win for Cozumel, going 7 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 1-4. Today's win puts Cozumel at 58-70, while Waimea falls to 68-63.
The Beaches got a big at-bat from designated hitter David Shannon. For the game, Shannon went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 12th home run of the season gave Cozumel a 3-1 lead.
"Every loss hurts," said Waimea manager Orlando González. "But this was a tough one."
