Streaking Hitmen Win Another One, 2-1
|
The Calgary Hitmen got a stellar effort from pitcher Ricky Sanchez, helping Calgary score a win over the visiting Albuquerque Cacti, 2-1. Sanchez got the win, improving to 6-11. He gave up 3 hits and walked 4 over 7 innings. He allowed 1 run. Eric Lewis closed it out for his 37th save.
The Hitmen got a big at-bat from left fielder Bruce Rivero. For the game, Rivero went 2 for 4 with a home run and a triple. He scored 2 runs. In the bottom of the first, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 9th home run of the season gave Calgary a 1-0 lead.
"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Rivero said.
The Hitmen have an impressive 85-43 record.
