Reno Raiders starter John Tait turned in a top-notch performance against the Thunder Bay Black Bears at House of Pain. The result was a win for the Raiders, 4-2. Reno pitcher Mike Cornwell got the win, upping his record to 1-4. Riley Adams got the loss. Pat Neumann, credited with the save, is now 2 for 2 in save opportunities.
Phil Peters, who is tied for 2nd in the TAAA in RBI with 82, chipped in a 2-run home run for Reno in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the third baseman had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 RBI.
"I put my work in and trusted the process," said Tait.
The win for the Raiders raised their record to 65-47.
