Black Bears Deal Hitmen 5-2 Defeat
Calgary got a decent performance from pitcher Angel Acosta, but it wasn't enough to beat the Thunder Bay Black Bears. Thunder Bay won the Mckinley Park contest, 5-2. Acosta threw 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. Thunder Bay reliever Sam Lademan picked up the win, raising his record to 5-2. Angel Acosta was tagged with the loss. Keith Sill was credited with the save, his 19th in 25 tries.

Jeff Eaton drew 1 walk for Thunder Bay. The 22-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the seventh. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring walk off Roberto de Alba. It was his 18th walk of the season.

"It was our day today," Eaton told the Thunder Bay Observer. "But we've got to keep our nose to the grindstone."

The win makes Thunder Bay 82-48.
