The Antioch Coal Miners picked up a win at The Firepit, knocking off the Joplin Fireballs, 6-3. Starting pitcher Josh DuBose was a big reason why. Picking up the save was 19-year old right-handed pitcher Paul Cummins. With the victory, the Coal Miners record stands at 78-56.

An inflection point occurred with no one out in the top of the fifth. That's when Coal Miners center fielder George Blackburn hit a fastball from Raul Capetillo for a 2-run single. Just like that, Antioch was up, 4-3.

"Some wins are easy and some are difficult, but either way we come to the ballpark ready to work hard every day," Blackburn told the Antioch Daily News.
