Kolenda Goes Wild, But Ambition Win
Joplin first baseman Matthew Kolenda pounded Indianapolis Ambition pitchers at Ken Griffey Jr. Plaza, but it was not enough to keep the Fireballs from falling, 10-7. Kolenda slugged 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. David Lewis zipped up his 22nd save. With the victory, the Ambition upped their record to 67-66.

The Ambition beat the Fireballs in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out single Nick Schroeder produced in the bottom of the seventh. Batting against Rogelio Lopez, Schroeder gave his team the lead, 8-7, when he hit a 2-run single.

"We'll take some time to unwind," said Schroeder, "and then get after it again."
