Loss Tarnishes Fine Performance by Cardenas
The inspired effort of Cozumel designated hitter Fernando Cardenas was not enough to prevent a loss, 10-9, to the Thunder Bay Black Bears. Cardenas was 3-5 with 2 home runs, while scoring 3 and driving in 4. Picking up the save was Efrain Gutierrez, his 6th. The Black Bears are now 62-55, while the Beaches fall to 57-60.

Spencer Beddall took Cozumel hurler Ricky Rocker deep in the bottom of the first. His 2-run home run put the Black Bears on top, 3-1. In all, Beddall had 2 singles in addition to the home run, while going 3 for 4.
