Earthquakes Nipped, 6-3, by Milwaukee
|
The Milwaukee Millers picked up a win at The Mandalore Complex, knocking off the San Francisco Earthquakes, 6-3. Starting pitcher Tim Northup played a key role in the triumph. The win went to Doug Michael in relief, making him now 2-3. Junior Baxter took the loss for San Francisco. Chris Wethington collected his 1st save.
Wixom, Michigan-born Roberto Rosario came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the eighth, with the bases loaded and the Millers trailing 3-2, he hit a 2-run single to right to put Milwaukee on top.
"That was a really good outing by Tim," said Milwaukee manager Kakuzo Kobayashi.
San Francisco now has a record of 14-16.
