Black Bears Handle Swallowtails, 2-1

Fans saw a dandy of a game between the Thunder Bay Black Bears and State College Swallowtails.
Starting pitcher Adam Rockwell gave the Thunder Bay Black Bears a rock-solid performance, helping his team defeat the State College Swallowtails, 2-1, at Edgbaston. Rockwell yielded 1 run over 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 2, and struck out 7. His record improves to 13-4. Joe Keefer earned the save, his 4th.
Tony Curiel drew 1 walk in 4 trips to the plate for Thunder Bay. The 24-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Eric Church. It was his 77th RBI of the season.
"When you are able to locate the ball, good things are going to happen," said Rockwell.
The Thunder Bay winning streak has reached 3 games.
