van den Heuvel Swings Kodiaks to 7-4 Win
The Calgary Kodiaks defeated the Minneapolis Freeze, 7-4, at Foothills Stadium. Jens van den Heuvel was one of the standouts for Calgary. His 4 hits included 2 singles and 2 triples -- this in addition to the 2 runs he scored and 2 he knocked in. The 4th-place Kodiaks now have a win-loss record of 64-75.

van den Heuvel had a game-changing triple in the bottom of the sixth. On a full count sinker from Bobby Hamilton, he banged a run-scoring triple to right, giving the Kodiaks a 5-4 lead. It was the 8th triple of the year for van den Heuvel.
