The Peoria Caterpillars defeated the Reno Raiders, 8-5, at Excavatar Park. Peoria first baseman Luis Santizo had a superb performance. He was 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The second-place Caterpillars bumped their record to 76-62.

Santizo had a key at-bat for Peoria in the bottom of the first. With a runner on 1st, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 19th home run of the season and gave Peoria an early 2-0 lead.

"I'm proud of the way our guys played today to come out with this win," Santizo told the Peoria Herald.
