Privateers Lose By a Run at Albuquerque
The Albuquerque Cacti picked up a win at Albuquerque Sports Stadium, knocking off the Memphis Privateers, 5-4. On the mound for Albuquerque was right-hander Chris Lechelt. He played a key role in the triumph. Jack Anthony converted his 7th save in 9 tries. Albuquerque, now 64-56, holds down second place in the RCL AAA Bobby Cox Division.

Mario Alonso, who leads the RAAA in home runs with 32, helped out the Albuquerque cause in the bottom of the fifth inning with a 2-run single. For the game, the first baseman went 1-3 with a walk, while adding 2 RBI.

"A confident pitcher is a dangerous thing," said Albuquerque manager Randy Haynes. "That's what Chris is right now."
