Tight Tilt Goes to Freeze, 3-2
|
The Amarillo Armadillos and Minneapolis Freeze provided some drama for the home crowd.
The Minneapolis Freeze, despite a fine performance by Amarillo pitcher Ray Lovelace, grabbed a 3-2 win at Armadillos Park. Lovelace allowed 3 runs over 6.1 innings. Mike O'Neil picked up his 4th save of the season.
Making an impact for Minneapolis was third baseman Rob Heyward. RCP2057 drilled a 2-run home run off Ray Lovelace in the top of the fourth. For the game, Heyward was 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
Heyward told the Minneapolis Times: "I was born for the big stage."
Minneapolis improves to 69-51 with the win. They lead their division by 4½ games.
