The Calgary Kodiaks spoiled a good performance by Amarillo first baseman Tyler Pate, bumping off Amarillo, 10-7, at Armadillos Park. Pate went 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Calgary reliever Wayne Balaski picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Tom Hughes took the loss. Picking up the save was Randy Singer, his 15th.

Calgary used the clutch hitting of Brad Downey to capture the win. The first baseman drilled a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to give the Kodiaks the lead, 8-7. For the game, Downey had 1 single and 2 doubles in 4 at-bats.

"I give credit to my teammates for this win. We got it done," Downey told the Calgary Bulletin.

The 4th-place Kodiaks have a record of 66-79.
