Bison Lose Again, 5-2, to Warriors
|
Though he had a stellar game, Josh Bye could not prevent his team, the Buffalo Bison, from losing, 5-2, to the Walnut Creek Warriors. Bye was 2-3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs. Juan Cruz was the winner in relief. His record is now 2-3. The losing pitcher was Ryan Willis. Russ Gilleo, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 7th save.
Bobby Tackman had a big 2-run home run for the Warriors in the top of the fifth inning. With Walnut Creek leading 3-1 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a forkball from Ryan Willis, who is tied for 8th in the TML in innings pitched with 46.2, and punished it. The result was his 8th home run of the season, which put the Warriors on top, 5-1.
Afterward, Buffalo manager Jon Green said: "Every team has a bad week."
The victory makes Walnut Creek 21-9.
