Memphis Privateers starter Ryan Willis had all his pitches working at Privateers Grounds. His stellar performance paved the way for an easy 8-2 Memphis win over the Fort Worth Cats. In 7.2 innings, Willis surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 4. He allowed 2 runs. With the win, Memphis has a record of 72-75. Fort Worth falls to 66-80.
Jason Locey had a big bases-clearing double for the Privateers in the bottom of the first inning. With Memphis leading 2-0 and the bases loaded, he got a cutter from 24-year old right-handed pitcher Larry Viola and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 2nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Privateers ahead, 5-0.
