Hali Launches 2 Dingers, But Albuquerque Wins
The Albuquerque Cacti spoiled a good performance by Fairfield third baseman Thiongo Hali, bumping off Fairfield, 13-10, at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Hali belted 2 home runs, while scoring 3 and driving in 6. Jimmy LaPointe earned save number 1. With the win over Fairfield, the Cacti improved to 84-68.

Albuquerque used a clutch at-bat from Fidel Martinez to capture the win. The first baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Cacti ahead, 5-4. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"Job one," said Martinez, "is get the job done."
