5-4 Antioch Win Thrills Crowd
|
The Minneapolis Freeze could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Bobby Hamilton into a win. Instead, the Antioch Coal Miners prevailed, 5-4, in 12 innings. Hamilton threw 8.2 innings of 4-hit ball. The winner was Antioch reliever Jason Beeks, now 4-0. The loser was Matthew Otto. With the win, Antioch upped its record to 92-61.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 12th inning, when Antioch catcher Matt Loss, facing Matthew Otto, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Coal Miners the 5-4 win.
"This wasn't a good win," said Loss. "It was a great win."
