Thornton, Racers March to 7-4 Victory
The Bowling Green Racers defeated the Thunder Bay Black Bears, 7-4, at Top of the Hill. Bowling Green shortstop Jared Thornton had a superb performance. He went 3-4 with 3 doubles and a walk. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. Mark Huffer picked up the win in relief. Bobby Boeckner took the loss for Thunder Bay. David Heisler closed out the game, earning his 20th save.

Thornton had a game-changing double in the bottom of the eighth. On a 1-1 changeup from Bobby Boeckner, he banged a 2-run double to right-center, giving the Racers a 6-4 lead. It was the 47th double of the year for Thornton.

"A great game, a great day," said Thornton about the win. "I can't complain."

The win for the Racers raised their record to 77-77.
