It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Gabe Bourdeau -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Capital Grounds and paced the 15-5 Firebirds win over the Billings Mustangs.

After his dynamite batting performance, the Albany center fielder told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control."

His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 6 tries and put his name in the record book. Gabe Bourdeau hit a solo-shot off Jeremy Hillman in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Carlos Montelongo in the 4th, singled in the 6th and grounded out in the 7th.

For the year, Bourdeau is batting .359 with 10 home runs, 55 RBIs and 38 runs scored.
