Sasquatch Come Up Short at Vancouver, 3-2
|
The Vancouver Pioneers tallied a win at "The Fort" at B.C. Place, throttling the Seattle Sasquatch, 3-2. Starting pitcher Ricky Suazo was a big reason for his team's success. The winning pitcher was Suazo, now 4-2. He tossed 8 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 5. The victory gives Vancouver a record of 19-14.
Ron Gerlt, who is tied for 9th in the TML with a 1.003 OPS, took Seattle hurler Thor Odinson deep in the bottom of the first. His 2-run home run put the Pioneers on top, 2-0. In all, Gerlt had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"We busted our tails," said Seattle manager Vicente Vargas. "But we came up short."
