Victory Over Millers Takes Walnut Creek to 27-9
|
The Walnut Creek Warriors got a marvelous performance from pitcher Matt White. The right-hander kept the Milwaukee offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 4-1 Walnut Creek victory at The Mandalore Complex. White got the win, improving to 4-1. He gave up 7 hits and walked 3 over 7.2 innings. He allowed 1 run. Today's win puts Walnut Creek at 27-9, while Milwaukee falls to 14-23.
Walnut Creek won the game in part because of Matt Saxton. The left fielder ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Warriors ahead, 2-0. For the game, Saxton had 2 doubles and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"The fans pay the tickets and help us do what we do, so we like to put on a show for them," White told the Walnut Creek Bulletin.
