The 7-5 Buffalo win over Houghton was due largely to Jose Espinoza. The Bison designated hitter went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Buffalo reliever D.J. Handrahan was the winner. His record is now 2-1. Pedro Pacheco took the loss. Gary Halliwell closed out the game, earning his 10th save.

Buffalo second baseman Jeff Holmes helped the Bison go up, 4-3, in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the game tied, Holmes hit a run-scoring single off Houghton pitcher Harry Standish.

Holmes told a Buffalo Observer reporter that the win made him feel "upbeat about our team."
