Starting pitcher Malik Combs was a major factor in the 4-2 El Paso Mavericks triumph over the Eagle Rock Ridge Runners. Jeff Dalton picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Brian Clendenny suffered the loss. El Paso raised its record to 22-19 with the win.

Nate Parish contributed a productive at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With a runner on 1st, he hit a single. His at-bat helped El Paso get the win.

"Main thing is I want the team to win," Combs told a reporter after the game. "Just have to go out there, take care of my job, and give my team a chance to win."
