Mavericks Earn 7-5 Home Win
|
Getting a good performance from second baseman Nate Parish, the El Paso Mavericks defeated the Eagle Rock Ridge Runners, 7-5. Parish went 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Mavericks. The Mavericks saw their win-loss record go to 20-21. At the same time, the Ridge Runners fell to 17-23.
Matt Griffin, who finished 2nd in the RCL in batting average with .347 last year, helped out the El Paso cause in the bottom of the seventh inning with a run-scoring double. For the game, the first baseman went 2-4 with a double and a walk.
"We've got guys willing to do what it takes to win," Parish told the El Paso Times.
