Marauders Thwart Blazers, 5-4
|
In a close game at Magnificent Marauders Mansion, the Maple Marauders edged the Bloomington Blazers, 5-4. Maple left fielder Ruben Campos stood apart with his performance. He went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Maple pitcher Paul Blevins earned the win, hiking his record to 2-1. Chris Maloney suffered the loss. Allen Justice finished to wrap up his 5th save.
Maple took a 5-4 lead on Frank Robinson III's 10th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Robinson III hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Bloomington pitcher Chris Maloney visibly frustrated.
"Winning is all that really matters and we got it done today," Robinson III told the Maple Today.
Maple is 5th in the Thurman Munson League East Division with a record of 18-23.
