Eagle Rock Defeated By Luchadores, 6-3
|
The Mexico City Luchadores locked up a win at The Royal Grounds, knocking off the Eagle Rock Ridge Runners, 6-3. On the mound for Mexico City was right-hander Miguel Arroyo. He played a major role in the triumph. Ray Heck closed the door for Mexico City, picking up his 1st save of the year. With the win, Mexico City improves its record to 2-3.
The Ridge Runners had been locked in a 3-3 tie with the Luchadores going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 25-year old third baseman Mike Clark came to the plate. Clark hit a 2-run double on a first pitch cutter from Eagle Rock hurler Wilfredo Velez. It was Clark's 1st double of the year.
"I thought we competed really well," said Luchadores manager Prince Percival Papenfuss. "I thought the energy was really good."
