The El Paso Mavericks used a great performance from 28-year old left-handed pitcher Billy Dionne to beat the Quebec Armada, 2-1, at The Corral. The win was credited to 26-year old right-handed pitcher Jeff Dalton in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Mike Bergren took the loss. Picking up the save was Morgan Henn, his 12th.

Had Brad Coates not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Coates hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Mavericks.

"Coulda, shoulda, woulda," said Quebec manager Rod Cirilo. "We had our chances and didn't cash in."

The loss makes Quebec 29-14.
