7 Straight Wins for Honu
The Hawaii Honu went home winners at Aloha Stadium, thanks in large part to starter Kirk Hojnacki. Hojnacki stifled the Maple Marauders, enabling Hawaii to grab the 4-1 win. Picking up the save was Karl Molnar, his 12th. Hawaii, now 25-19, holds down second place in the Thurman Munson League West Division.

The Honu got a big at-bat from shortstop Les Hutchinson. For the game, Hutchinson went 2-4 with a double. He drove in 3 runs. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 16th double of the season gave Hawaii a 4-1 lead.

"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Hawaii manager Naoki Okada.
