The Buffalo Bison had to overcome a fine effort from Hawaii pitcher Kirk Hojnacki to win, 4-3, at Thundering Grounds at Bison Stadium. Hojnacki went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs. Buffalo pitcher Jake Nulty got the win. He's now 1-0. Jesus Giron was tagged with the loss. The loss drops Hawaii to 4-1.

Mace Kota chipped in for Buffalo, stroking a crucial run-scoring triple in the bottom of the eighth inning. For the game, the shortstop went 1 for 3 with a triple and a walk.

"When I'm in the lineup, I always feel like we're going to win the game," said Kota.
